General Information

Access

The Town of Snow Hill provides access to its public records in accordance with the Maryland Public Information Act (Annotated Code of Maryland, General Provisions Article 4-503 of the State Government Article). Under the Public Information Act (PIA), you are entitled to review and obtain copies of available records, subject to certain exceptions.

The PIA does not require the town to provide information not contained in a public record or to create such a record if it does not exist at the time of the request. In accordance with the PIA, the town charges reasonable fees for copying as well as search and preparation of records.

A request for public information should be submitted to the Town Manager. You may use the town’s Public Information Act Request Form provided on the website.  If you have any questions about the records you are seeking, please contact Kelly Pruitt at (410) 632-2858 or by email at kpruitt@snowhillmd.com

You may pick up a hard copy of the Public Information Act Form, as well as submit completed forms at Town Hall, 103 Bank Street, Snow Hill, Maryland 21863.

The town will respond to requests as soon as possible. The PIA requires a response within 30 days of receipt of the request unless additional time is needed by the town and granted by the applicant.
